What To Look For During Your Pre Lining Walk Through.
Builders understander how exciting it is to see your dream home come to life, and how much you want to be apart of the building process.
Unfortunately, builders have to restrict access to owners during construction for a few reasons. Firstly and foremost it is for the safety of there clients. The Building of a brand new home requires a lot of building products, contractors, excavations and on-site machinery. Also, Builders have strict WorkCover requirements to follow.
As result of these reasons and more, your builder should have some arranged times for you to be shown through your new home. You would be best off checking with your builder on there process for owner walk thoughts.
One of the most common walk through times would be at the pre lining stage. I have put together a checklist of this for you to look out for when in your pre lining walkthrough.
Pre Lining Walk-through Check List
- Niches are in the right place and are the right size
- A/c and alarm pads are in the correct position
- Gas points are in there right location
- Lights and power points are correct
- Any plan changes are done as requested
Now, I am not saying that it is your reasonability to check all these things, however, if you notice something that has been missed or not done correctly then it is much easier and to have it addressed before the walls a sheeted.
Now, this may be your first time walking through your new home and it may be the first time seeing your house not just as a set of plans. So make saw you take it all in and enjoy the process, ask your supervisor as many questions as you need to understand what everything is.
