Top 5: Staircase Features – Ideas for your new home
We’ve been installing a lot of staircases on site lately! There are so many different styles and features that you can include so I thought I would summarise my Top 5: Staircase Features.
Top 5: Staircase Features
Number 1: Glass Balustrades
Opting for a glass balustrades is a great way to keep a room feeling open. Glass balustrades come in many different styles ranging from glass panels to one sheet of glass like the one pictured below.
Number 2: Floating Treads
If you want to make a statement with your staircase then floating treads are a great way to draw attention. Not only do they look impressive, their minimalist style ensures they hardly take up any space in the room. You will need a stair void that is long and open so this one won’t fit in all designs.
Number 3: Open Treads
If you don’t have a design that can incorporate a floating staircase, then open treads might be worth considering. These can fit in smaller spaces while still maintaining a feeling of openness.
Number 4: Closed Tread Timber
I love including elements of timber detail and a staircase is a great place to do this. A slightly more heavy option, it works well to break up a simply coloured room. If your budget doesn’t allow for solid timber, you can opt to cover the treads and risers with timber look laminate. This works so well without breaking the budget.
Number 5: Continuous treads and risers
Combine closed treads and floating staircase and you get this! It looks amazing and really catches the eye. The minimal look ensures this staircase doesn’t take up heaps of space.
These are only a few different options that you can include to shake up your staircase. Whether you want to make a statement, keep your room feeling open and airy, or just use the staircase space wisely – there are endless options to consider and explore.
