Things to add to your Alfresco | Simone TV: Episode 46
There are so many different things that you can add to your alfresco – built in BBQ’s, pizza ovens, televisions, fans, gas points, fridge spaces, sinks, the list goes on! Daniel shows us some of the features in this alfresco so you can see how you might incorporate them into yours.
On this episode, we talk about Alfresco.
Today what I’m going to do is to run-through a review on a whole bunch of different things that you might want to consider when doing an Alfresco. Things that might make outdoor living a lot easier and just a little bit of added bonus things like this pizza oven we have here.
Obviously, we are going to start with the pizza oven right next to me. The pizza oven is a very very good addition to an Alfresco. A couple little pointers if you are doing them, what I would suggest is consider the height of the actual cooking service. This one here, we have built it a little bit higher so the cooking surface is a lot easier. Obviously, you can see this one here is a real traditional look where you can actually see the chimney and you can also see the actual dome part. There’s a lot of different ways you can actually do that, but considering a wood oven for your Alfresco is a really good idea and you have a really good nights around at the pizza oven.
Also another good thing is an outdoor sink. Having an outdoor sink really helps you so that you can keep all the mess everything outside. You can have a good and clean inside kitchen and keep the messy ones outside. Nice, big, wide sink is always good to consider. I’d also suggest the tap has a good range to get around and also another little handy tip is the pull-out caps. You got plenty of room to get around and clean all the aspects of your kitchen.
Another thing to consider too when doing something like this is there’s actually been a pre-cutout space for an actual BBQ. So, this is all ready to go, pre-measured for a BBQ. There is a hole cut here ready to go for the gas, which is underneath. And also there is a pre-power point up in the ceiling for a range hood. A lot of things to consider that you want to get done before the finishes go on in anticipation for things to be installed a little bit later on as well too.
Over here, we have a spot for a twin fridge. Another point here is it’s been pre-measured with the extra one ready to go. It’s pre-measured for fridges and there’s a power point ready to go on in there as well, and another thing to consider whether how you are going to use and operate.
Also, another good thing for an Alfresco, as you can see up here we have a fan on. These are on right now because it’s quite warm already today. Fans are good but you know obviously if your Alfresco is closed or even if it’s opened, it’s a good way to circulate a lot of air. If you have a wood oven going or a pizza oven going, the fan really helps as well too.
Also, what we are going to talk about is the ceiling. You can see we have some outside stainless steel down-lights. Another good thing having the stainless steel down-lights is that they work well for outside, and down-lights too are nice and flat. So, they’re not having things that can down from the top of your ceiling.
Also, when talking about getting all the wires and getting everything ready for our Alfresco, in here the house has been pretty wired for TVs. You can see there’s blue wires here and they are also for the speakers. So the upstairs and the ceiling are also pre-wired for speakers. Also having enough power points in the right spots are really beneficial for you. You really need to know how you’re going to operate your Alfresco and make sure it’s all ready to go. So when you are moving you have the appropriate wires, power points everything in the right position.
Also too here is a stuff we talked about pre-roughed in and this is the gas point here, and it’s ready for any type of gas that can be mounted onto the wall. Also, our Alfresco is not complete without a dart board.
Alright guys, I hope you enjoyed this episode on the different features and things to consider when doing your Alfresco.
