Steps Into Your Bathroom? | Simone TV: Episode 13
Do you even wonder why you have these steps in your house? Here is everything you need to know and how to avoid them in your new home.
Do you have steps in your home like this? This is because all the wet areas are sand and cemented. So we have a wet area in there wet area in here. What happens is, wet area floors need to tilt toward the drain so if water collects it won’t leak to the rest of your house. This is done by a process known as sand and cement. So this is why we created this step here. These tiles are glued directly down to the concrete and these ones here are bedded with sand and cement.
When steps are a necessity
There are couple reason why you cannot avoid having this step:
- The first one is you can actually sand and cement the whole house. These tiles are 400mm x 400mm. Suppliers generally do not actually recommend that you need to do this. But if you are going to have 600mm x 600mm tiles (or larger) I might recommend sand and cementing the whole house right through. So that is one way to eliminate the step.
- The second why is that you can actually recess the concrete in the wet areas or upstairs as well with the joints? You can actually recess so what will happen then is recess this thickness will recess down when they stay in the cement and put the towels on it all comes straight through the one joint.
Now I would love to hear your thoughts whether or not that bothers you? Whether or not you do not mind it? What you actually like to do?
Thanks for watching. Bye for now.
