Inside the Garage | Simone TV: Episode 38
On this episode of Simone TV, Daniel is in the Garage! He’s here to explain what you should look out for in your Tender to ensure that your new garage turns out just the way you want it. There are a few different ways that your builder may finish off the garage in your new home. Daniel goes over the different options you have for finishing the garage, and what each of those finishes look like.
Inside the Garage
The garage – not a lot of people are really fast about how their garage looks. But let me ask you a question – do you have a frame in your garage? Maybe you don’t even know. So here’s the questions to raise, how do you want the garage to finish? Now as you can see I am standing here and you know this is the inside wall just here. Here is another inside wall and that these walls will be gyprock.
Why Frame the Garage?
Now, you may ask why we have a frame in the garage. There is a number of reasons, and I can start with looks one. At least this way you are going to have the look of the garage look all the same. It’s going to be gyprock and all be finished the same.
Another reason is you do not see the inside of your brick. A lot of bricks these days are one-sided. They all have a face and the back actually is a different color. You could actually have two different coloured bricks in the inside of the garage. A lot of people may not be fussed about that, but some people just want that little bit extra and to have it all look the same.
Couple other reasons that does not make it a lot easier for construction. This way, it’s installed, it’s finished, the roofs up, and we are ready for the gyprock to be installed. This is a lot safer way of constructing and does make it a lot easier for the trades to work during the construction of the home.
I really like having a frame in the garage. I really strongly suggest knowing how your garage construction will take place and opting for frames where possible.
Without Frames
What we would have done is, I will show you what it looks like so as you can see here, this is what it looks like if you do not have to put a frame inside your garage. As you can see, it is not the nicest looking but you may be happy with the way it looks; it’s just a garage at the end of the day. If you do want to make sure that the garage still feels like a part of the home, the advantages of having a garage wall there it is clean, it is finished, it is very unlikely to collect dust and stuff like that so consider it.
Choose your Bricks Wisely
You know what, you may have just picked your bricks and you may have realized that the inside of that brick it is only a face brick, so that is only one-sided. If you realize that then tag someone or in the comment below let me know because putting a frame in the garage is going to solve that problem of not seeing that ugly side of your brick.
Now I am just trying to see whether or not the bricks I have on-site are actually like that. Let’s have a quick look and see if I can show you what I am trying to talk about.
As you can see here, this is the face side of the brick, just like so then this is the inside of the brick, just like so. Now as you can see that they are two totally different colours. So, you are going to see one side like that for the engage P and the other side like that for the back of the brick for the other side. The way we avoid that is having a frame. So, if you know someone who pick their brick and it is only one-sided tag them so they can see what they can do to make the inside of the garage nice.
Alright guys thanks for joining me on today’s visit and will see you next time. Bye for now!
