Fibre Optic Cable – Simone TV: Episode 2
Ever heard people talk about fibre optic cable and never know what it is? In this video i go into depth of how it actually works.
Hi! I’m Daniel Simone and today I am here to talk about Fibre Optic Cable. So, what is it? When we used the idea of information travelling in different waves, when we are speaking to a landline telephone, a Y cable carries the sound from our voice into a socket on the wall where other cable takes it to a local telephone exchange. Cellphones worked in a different way. They send and received information used in invisible radio waves. A technology called wireless because it doesn’t use any cables.
Fibre Optic cable works in a third wave. It sends information coded in a beam of light down into a glass or a plastic pipe. So Fibre Optic cables imported for internet, telephone systems, and cable TV. Every new area would already have Fibre Optic cable installed. When building your new home, you may have to run these in your house.
You may have been thinking, I have a Fibre Optic cable in my area, so why can’t I access it? That doesn’t mean that everybody can get the internet from this just because you live in the vicinity.
Fibre Optic cable laid by itself is kind of a motor wave without any on ramps. It may run all the way to Sydney to Melbourne, but you just can’t access it without a proper on and off ramp. This is where the money part comes into play, getting access to each individual home.
Okay, I hope that helped you understand Fibre Optic cable a little bit better. If you know anyone that would benefit from watching this, please like and share. On the comments below, I would love to hear your thoughts on Fibre Optic cable. Thanks for watching and bye for now.
