Nock down rebuild, renovate, house and land pack or newbuild which is right for you?
The Christmas/new year break has come and gone and so many people are still confused about what to do with the building projects. Should we renovate, should we do a nock down and rebuild, should we buy a house, should we buy a house and land park or should we buy land and find our own builder. It seems like there are some many different options and the more time we had to think about them we just get more confused.
All of the above options can be both good and bad depending on your needs. In this blog I am not going to break down all these options, but, instead, give you a set of questions you should ask yourself and your family. Once you have a better understanding of a few thing then hopefully you will be in the right position to make a decision.
Dollars
When families begin the process of the build they will generally start with the budget. When it comes to the budget of a project it could mean a few things like how much you can borrow, how you actually want to spend on the project and how much you can afford to carry. All of the possible options can cost very different amounts.
Area
Where are you living at the moment? Is this a place you would like to stay? Do you like your street, your neighbours? Are you close to shops and schools? Are you too far from work or are you to close to certain people. Once you have worked out that you are not happy where you are then you can ask your self the same question when trying to find a new area to live.
Family
Is your family sizes going to stay the same? Will your family size be increasing? Once you know these answers then you are able to look at the options and see what one will suit your need the best.
Time
We live in an age where everybody has no time. How many times are you will move? Do you want to move out and straight into your new place? Are you happy to move a few times if you do a nock down rebuild? Would you be happy to stay and live in a renovation?
Once you take the time to answer these questions hopefully you will be in a better position to make a discussion.
